The Mexican Caribbean includes eight main tourist destinations: Cancún, sophisticated and elegant, the Mayan Riviera, with 120 kilometers of pure ocean and jungle. Three different islands - Cozumel, an island 48 kilometers long by 14 wide; Isla Mujeres, 7 km long by one kilometer wide located 14km from Cancún; Holbox, is 10km to the west of Cabo Catoche, is the most northern point of the peninsula, 7.3km in length by 800 mts wide; as well as Chetumal, Cobá and Tulum.
The climate here is semitropical, with an annual average temperature of 26ºC, reaching 35ºC in the summer. The highest temperatures are registered between the months of May and August. The rainy season is from September to October. The official currency is the Mexican peso, although the U.S dollar and the Euro also are accepted.
